These days, the fashion industry “It” girls are blonde, white and usually from Eastern Europe. Black models make token appearances on the runway, and BET News takes on the worthy subject Thursday night with the half-hour documentary special “Fashion Blackout.”

Designer Tracy Reese, top male model Tyson Beckford and Vogue’s Andre Leon Talley (sporting an Obama pin) are among the commentators, but the topic needs more than 30 minutes of airtime.
