We love fashion history and icons at Closet and with that in mind we have decided to start a weekly post about the most iconic dresses/outfits of all time. Each week we'll feature an iconic outfit or dress made famous by it's wearer, whether it be from a movie, television or a red carpet event.

To start off we are featuring the Marilyn Monroe white halter dress, possibly one of the 20th century's most famous images, made even more famous when she stepped over the sidewalk grate in 1955 on the set of The Seven Year Itch.

Also we'd love to hear your thoughts on who you think has worn an iconic outfit, so please leave a comment.
