Yesterday 16 year old Jessica Watson from Australia set sail from Sydney with hopes of making it around the world. If accomplished, she will be the youngest person to ever make the solo trip. She will sail 23,000 nautical miles, over eight months, in her 34-foot yacht, Ella's Pink Lady. I had some big dreams as a high school sophomore, but Watson is an inspiration and on this Monday I'd like to be setting out on my own amazing adventure.
“Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed
by the things you did not do than by the things you did do.
So, throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour.
Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – MARK TWAIN
Good Luck Jessica! Follow her journey here on her blog.
